There’s always a better way. That’s how SOZO | Pivotal has evolved since we began doing this back in 1999. While a decade may not seem like 10 years anymore, it is interesting how much business has changed in the early part of this century. One thing that hasn’t changed is the passion that we have in creating solutions for our clients and seeing those solutions turn into success.

When you’re passionate about something, it’s fun. And needless to say, we have a lot of fun at SOZO | Pivotal. Our story is about crafting and telling the story of our clients.

Kimberly Leclercq

Dave Klonke

Always on the move and always looking toward the next big adventure, Kimberly is a founding principal at SOZO | Pivotal. Prior to forming SOZO | Pivotal with Dave Klonke in 2005, she started her own firm, SOZO, Co., in 2000.

In addition to managing the firm’s client relationships and business operations, Kimberly has enjoyed a rather busy last few years. In 2008 she finalized the adoption of her son, Aeson, who is a very happy 2-year-old. While filling out the maddening paperwork and dealing with the whims of an international adoption process, Kimberly authored and illustrated a children’s book called “You are my baby. I am your mommy.”

Kimberly is in process of adopting again. It's been a fun journey and she can't wait to travel to Africa to bring home her baby girl in 2010!

Kimberly's passion for adoption (and amazing partnership with Dave) led to the creation of ADOPT MORE, a non-profit that builds awareness of the 140,000,000 children worldwide waiting for their forever families.

Kimberly is also involved with the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber and has been a board member since 2003.

Way back in 1999 Dave went out on his own and created Pivotal Marketing. At the time, his firm focused on web and public relations. Throughout the years Pivotal polished its approach on marketing and branding as a starting point to all communication initiatives. Successful web sites or PR programs were never achieved without a sound branding strategy.

In 2005, Dave partnered with Kimberly Leclercq to form SOZO | Pivotal. As the firm's creative director, Dave oversees the creative and strategic direction for all SOZO | Pivotal clients. He also writes and manages the firm's blog, www.doesyourbusiness.com.

Dave enjoys playing and watching sports with his sons, Max and Sam, riding his motorcycle, photography, and staying on top of business trends. In addition to building his businesses, he's also writing a book on branding.
